I grew up physically changing the landscape of Massachusetts. My father was a logger and I spent a large part of my early years working with him clearing land for developments, turning wild countryside into bland suburban communities. Based on these experiences I am interested in the ephemeral qualities of the American landscape. I seek out symbols from both historical and contemporary iconic images. My work balances nature with human manipulation. I create work by altering what exists in the landscape. Sculptures demonstrate physical action regarding condition, and accountability.
